All
gardens are unique. They should be an extension of your home & your
character. They should have a connection to their surroundings,
to the adjacent architecture & to the people that use them.
Most people today have busy lives, often juggling work & family,
so to have a garden that is both beautiful and as practical as possible
is very important. There is no such thing as a maintenance free
garden !
I
have spent all my working life being inspired by plants. Firstly
in forestry, then in horticulture, growing trees & shrubs for the
trade. A desire to be more creative with these plants led me to
'get into gardening'. I worked at a busy New Forest hotel for several
years, giving me a thorough understanding of the importance of a
practically laid out garden & of good plant husbandry. During this
time I studied garden design at Bournemouth University & spent a
good deal of time visiting & analysing many of the great gardens
that have been created throughout our past.
Moving
into the world of landscaping & design I have spent over 10 years
designing, building & maintaining all types of garden, from small,
town & city plots to grand country houses & everything in between.
This has given me a great range of experience in all sorts of design,
planting & hard landscaping. In 2005 I started my own business &
I can offer you the creative talent & the practical knowledge to
create the perfect outdoor space for your home.
In
2008 I trained
in the use of 'Vectorworks' garden design software & can now
offer cad (computer aided drafting) plans for all design work. I
also now have a full team of specialist hard landscapers & tree
surgeons to enable me to undertake larger garden projects.
I
offer a range of services for the improvement of your garden so
use the links
and
let's see if I can help....
Please
have a look at as many pages on my site as you can, even if you
are not sure about needing that service, as they all contain photos
that demonstrate the style & standard that is typical of my
work...

"As
a gardening novice, I was worried that a designer might impose his
ideas on me or leave me with a show garden that I wouldn't be able
to take care of properly. On the contrary, Steve Browne was friendly,
helpful and always went out of his way to explain his ideas clearly
at every stage of the project. His design was elegant, yet contemporary
and, most importantly, sympathetic to the style and location of
my house. The work was all carried out efficiently and all costs
and options were made clear upfront, with no hidden extras. I am
delighted with my new garden and would be happy to recommend Steve
most warmly."
